Dear

Welcome
to CN Consulting's "Cocktail Talk".

intended to arm you with amusing bits and bytes of information on
whats happening in the computer world. Topics sure to break the ice
and capture an audience at many a social or business event.

McDonald's
put 7,000 or so kiosks in their restaurants in Europe and lucky
Europeans are now able to order using a touch screen instead of a
17 year old.
McDonald's
is being accused of taking away jobs due to high labor costs
In
the UK McWorkers get paid between $8 and $9 per hour. About the
same as our minimum wage. In Denmark however McWorkers over 21 get
$21 an hour, and over 18 get $18 an hour. It could be why 80%
of McDonald's hires are under 18.
Similar
kiosks are coming to America, maybe you've seen one. Our McRobots
won't offer English, German, French, and Spanish languages like
their European cousins, probably because everyone in America speaks
English, but they are coming.
McDonald's
is accused of racing to install McRobots ahead of the $15 Minimum
Wage change. But McDonald's says McRobots will increase
efficiency, increasing sales, and creating jobs, for 17 year old
Americans making $15 an hour.
McRobots
do bring a lot to the party. Just being able to order a Quarter
Pounder (not available in any other industrialized country because
they're all metric) with four all beef patties, making it a One
Pounder is cause enough for a visit. But what about "The
Secret Menu"?
McDonald's
has a Secret Menu. Knowing about the Secret Menu makes you
special, makes you part of the club, a part of the community. You
belong.
You
can go to McDonald's and order, from a smiling 17 year old, a
McDouble and a McChicken from the $1 menu. Then by putting the McChicken
between the all beef patties of the McDouble you'll have the $2
McGangbang. Only you, and people as cool as you, will know.
How
about a grilled cheese, strawberry eggnog shake, McFlurry Pie or
Monster Mac?
If
you need/want to hip your friends to Mickey D's Secret Menu, or the
Secret Menus of Arby's, BK, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, DQ, Five Guys,
KFC, Panera, Sonic, Taco Bell or Wendy's you can send them to www.hackthemenu.com .
Even
In-N-Out Burger has a Secret Menu. Imagine how cool you'd be
rolling through In-N-Out Burger in LA ordering your 3X3
"Animal Style" from your rented Prius. But, anyway.
People
need recognition, we need to belong, we need society. The McRobot
taking away our Secret Menu is the beginning of the end. This is
how iRobot begins.
Secret
Menu, society, people, McRobot, iRobot, or not, that's your call,
and that's Cocktail Talk.
